Rafia Rahman
Consulting Arborist
M.S. Forest Ecology and Management, Michigan Technological University
I started working at Rainbow in July of 2024 as a Consulting Arborist. This role offers the perfect opportunity to grow my expertise while making a positive impact in the field, and I’m excited to have a career that aligns with my long-standing interest in plant healthcare. I have always had a deep appreciation for trees and their vital role in our environment and the opportunity to work closely with nature, promote sustainable practices, and help communities understand the importance of tree health is incredibly fulfilling. I’m passionate about preserving and enhancing green spaces, and arboriculture allows me to make a meaningful difference in both ecosystems and people’s lives.
I received my B.S. (2013) in Agriculture from Patuakhali Science and Technology University, Bangladesh, and M.S. (2015) in Agroforestry from Bangladesh Agricultural University, Bangladesh. Later, I received my second M.S. (2019) in Forest Ecology and Management from Michigan Technological University. After completing my education, I began working for other companies in the green industry and am excited to bring that knowledge and expertise to my career at Rainbow.
In my free time I enjoy taking care of my houseplants or being outdoors whenever I get a chance, whether it’s hiking, camping, or simply enjoying a walk in the park. I have a passion for learning new things, whether I’m picking up a new skill or diving into an interesting topic. Each of these hobbies enriches my life in different ways!
